Pirates' Tyler Bashlor: Moved off 40-man roster

The Pirates designated Bashlor for assignment Sunday.

The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for utility man Wilmer Difo, whose contract was selected from the taxi squad in a corresponding move. Bashlor was set to open the season in the minors after the Pirates optioned him to Triple-A Indianapolis at the conclusion of spring training.
