Rangers president of baseball operations Jon Daniels said last week that Cody (shoulder) could be ready to return from the 60-day injured list in September, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.

Cody was shut down in late April with a right shoulder impingement, and he doesn't appear to have made much meaningful progress in his recovery from the injury. The Rangers are holding out hope that Cody will be able to increase the intensity of his throwing program in August, but he'll still need to complete an extended minor-league rehab assignment before potentially returning to the big leagues.
