The Rangers placed Cody on the 10-day injured list Sunday with right shoulder inflammation.
Texas recalled Josh Sborz from its taxi squad to replace Cody in the bullpen and on the 26-man roster. Cody had worked mostly in lower-leverage spots in relief for the Rangers this season, posting a 7.94 ERA and 1.59 WHIP across 11.1 innings.
