Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Protected from Rule 5 draft

Doyle was added to the Rockies' 40-man roster Tuesday.

Doyle has impressive raw power and above-average speed, but strikeouts have been a major issue in the upper levels. The 24-year-old outfielder hit .256/.300/.473 with a 31 percent strikeout rate, 26 home runs and 23 steals in 548 plate appearances at Double-A and Triple-A.
