Royals' Drew Storen: Assigned to Double-A

Storen (elbow) was assigned to Double-A Northwest Arkansas on Thursday, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

He was singed to a minor-league deal in the offseason and will be given a friendly assignment to Double-A in an attempt to get him into a groove before bumping him up to Triple-A Omaha. Storen will serve as organizational bullpen depth going forward.
