Castellani signed a minor-league contract with the Athletics earlier this month, Chris Hilburn-Trenkle of Baseball America reports.

Castellani was quickly able to find a new organization after he elected free agency Nov. 7, ending his time with the Rockies. A 2014 second-round pick of Colorado, Castellani reached the majors for the first time in 2020 and made one spot start for the big club this past season, working 3.1 innings and giving up two earned runs on five hits and four walks. His deal with the Athletics presumably includes an invitation to spring training, but the 25-year-old right-hander is most likely ticketed for the Triple-A Las Vegas rotation.
