The Twins optioned Vallimont to Double-A Wichita on Wednesday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Vallimont was one of six pitchers optioned to minor-league camp as the Twins made their first round of cuts. He'll report back to Wichita for a second go-around after he struggled during his first taste of the Double-A level in 2021, finishing with a 6.03 ERA and 1.67 WHIP in 91 innings over his 21 innings. Vallimont did at least demonstrate an ability to miss bats, as he fanned 31.1 percent of the batters he faced.
