Garlick (rib cage) has been able to play light catch, but is still too sore to swing a bat, MLB.com reports.
Garlick suffered a cartilage fracture after running into the outfield wall at Petco Park on July 29. He's making some progress, but is still a ways away from a definitive timetable. It sounds like he won't return until September.
