Porter (back) will undergo surgery Wednesday on his lower back, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. He's expected to miss the rest of the season as a result, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

While Porter is expected to make a full recovery from surgery, this is close to the worst-case scenario for the 23-year-old, who had previously required a pair of procedures on his back, which has been an issue dating back to his prep days. As of now, no official return timetable has been handed down, though Charania suggests the Nuggets will likely take a "big-picture approach" to Porter's health and hold him out for the remainder of the 2021-22 campaign. Even if Porter isn't officially shut down for the season, it seems that fantasy managers in redraft leagues can comfortably move on from him, given that he's facing a multi-month absence at minimum.
