2016 Outlook: David Johnson
David Johnson
Cardinals coach Bruce Arians is putting a lot of pressure on second-year running back David Johnson, saying he can be "one of the all-time best" at the position. He might be right after the way Johnson played as a rookie, but we just hope he doesn't have a sophomore slump. Johnson finished as the No. 7 Fantasy running back in standard league with 125 carries for 584 yards and eight touchdowns and 36 catches for 457 yards and four touchdowns. He was impressive once Chris Johnson got hurt in Week 12, and he didn't get double digits in carries until Week 13. But he averaged 18.2 Fantasy points in a standard league in his final five games when he was the featured back, and that's the expectation for him this season. Chris Johnson is back to share touches along with Andre Ellington, but David Johnson will be the starter and get plenty of work. He's worth drafting in Round 1 as a No. 1 Fantasy option in all leagues, and hopefully Arians is right on his long-term outlook.
