49ers' Jordan Matthews: Elevated from practice squad

Matthews was promoted to the 49ers' active roster from the practice squad Friday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

The 28-year-old rejoined San Francisco's practice squad earlier this week and will move to the active roster ahead of Saturday's matchup with Arizona. Matthews will provide depth at wide receiver with Deebo Samuel (hamstring) sidelined and Trent Taylor (undisclosed) on the COVID-19 list.
