Zamir White: Declares for draft
White declared for the 2022 NFL Draft on Friday, Matt Zenitz of On3.com reports.
The Georgia product was draft-eligible after the 2020 season but returned for his senior season. The running back's career got off to a rocky start as he suffered a torn ACL in his senior year of high school and tore his other ACL in fall camp of his freshman year at Georgia. However, White bounced back and averaged 5.3 yards per carry over 382 career carries and punched in 25 rushing touchdowns. He never showed much in the way of pass-catching ability while at Georgia and some could argue that the ACL tears sapped some of his wiggle and explosiveness, but White was still a productive and powerful runner who has an NFL-ready body. The medical evaluations and his performance at the combine will weigh heavily on his draft stock, but he likely projects as a early Day 3 pick as it stands.
