Makar got the Avalanche on the board with 54 seconds left in the first period, blasting a one-timer from along the wall to make it a 1-1 game. It was the eighth goal of the season for Makar and the first of five straight for the Avs. The 23-year-old leads all NHL defensemen in goals and boasts 16 points through 14 games.
