Marner left Friday's practice session for precautionary reasons. The center will travel with the team for Saturday's matchup with Minnesota and will be reevaluated prior to puck drop, Jonas Siegel of The Athletic reports.
While it's good news that Marner's potential injury isn't serious, his absence would significantly impact the Leafs' lineup considering he has tallied six goals and 15 assists in 24 games this year. In the event Marner can't play Saturday, William Nylander would be the most likely candidate to replace him on the top line, though Pierre Engvall could also be in the mix.
