Lawrence Taylor Jr. charged with statutory rape
Police in Georgia say Lawrence Taylor Jr., son of the Hall of Fame linebacker, is accused of sexually assaulting two underage females.
The adult son of NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor was arrested in Georgia on Sunday and charged with statutory rape, aggravated sodomy and aggravated child molestation, according to Cobb County Sheriff's Office records.
Police in Powder Springs, Ga., told USA Today that Lawrence Taylor Jr., 31, is accused of sexually assaulting two underage females.
"One juvenile alleged that a sexual assault occurred on (July 6) at Taylor's Powder Springs residence. Another juvenile alleged consensual sexual contact with Taylor in early 2012," police said in the statement.
Taylor remains held without bond on the three felony charges.
His 54-year-old father, the former Giants linebacker known as LT, pleaded guilty in 2011 to sexual misconduct and patronizing a 16-year-old prostitute. He received six years’ probation and had to register as a sex offender.
The elder Taylor was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999, and his son spoke at the ceremony. Last year his son, known as TJ, reportedly auctioned off his dad's Super Bowl ring.
