Asking "who needs a Masters win most?" about a group of professional golfers is like asking a collection of Mensa International members who needs a couple more IQ points.

Nearly everyone we're talking about here is a millionaire several times over. They play golf for a living. Heck, they play Augusta National for a living.

It's legacies we're talking about, though. Not "need" as in "I need food and shelter." Whose legacy is most desperately in need of that green jacket come tournament time at the beginning of April?

Let's take a look.

1. Tiger Woods

The Big Cat is the most obvious answer to any question regarding Masters wins. The unfortunate part for him is that the person who most desperately needs this green jacket to keep his (pipe) dream of catching Jack Nicklaus alive is also the least likely on this list to win it.

2. Rory McIlroy

This sounds odd, but McIlroy has more at stake than anyone not named "Tiger." Think about it. How much differently do we view Brandt Snedeker's career if he has one Masters win vs. no majors. A little, but not a ton, right?

With four majors, McIlroy is already an historically great figure. With the career slam this year, though? Instant legend.

3. Sergio Garcia

I'm in the "Sergio Garcia is criminally underrated" camp and have been for a few years now. A Masters win would have Garcia waltzing to Chambers Bay like this:

He needs that King Kong-sized monkey removed from his back, badly.

4. Lee Westwood

As has been discussed many times, Westwood has been the best golfer on the planet over the last five seasons at Augusta who hasn't won. He needs any major to seal his place in golf history. At 41, the clock has almost run out.

5. Matt Kuchar

Another golfer, like Garcia, who has seemingly done everything but win a major. He's at seven career PGA Tour wins. Let's say he picks up three more in his career and then one of the next four Masters'.

That's borderline Hall-of-Fame material, isn't it?

6. Dustin Johnson

Johnson has a chance to announce himself as Rory McIlroy's lone competitor at the top of the golf world this April. I don't think he will, but he, Jordan Spieth, Patrick Reed and Rickie Fowler are the only ones who can do so with a win at Augusta.

7. Rickie Fowler

Talk about monkeys and backs. If I hear about Fowler only having one PGA Tour one more time, I'm going to wrap my 3-iron around somebody's neck.

Part of me thinks Fowler needs a major just for his own confidence. It takes a toll to come so close so many times only to see Spieth or Reed annointed as the "next American." All that can change with one orange and green Sunday in three weeks.

8. Henrik Stenson

He's the European Kuchar. Strong career with one big swoon, currently super consistent and just needs that one major to probably get the Hall of Fame discussion underway.

9. Steve Stricker

He's Mark O'Meara minus the two majors at the end of his career. It's not happening, but it would be monumental for his career if it did.

10. Bubba Watson

There have been 79 golfers ever to win two majors. Only 44 have won three. Only eight have ever won three Masters'.
