Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers confirmed Friday that pitching prospect Archie Bradley won't be called up to make his major-league debut during the final days of the 2013 season, MLB.com reports.
"To add him to the roster in the winter when roster spots are very valuable to us -- and the team being pretty much out of contention -- didn't make a lot of sense," Towers said.
Bradley went 14-5 with a 1.84 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 162:69 K:BB ratio in 152 innings between high Class A Visalia and Double-A Mobile.
