Cubs pitcher Edwin Jackson tossed a low-intensity bullpen session Saturday, and told MLB.com his strained right lat is improving.

"It's getting better," Jackson said. "Just needed rest and recovery."

Jackson is hoping to return at some point during the final month of the season, though the Cubs surely won't rush him back. He had a 6.09 ERA in 139 innings of work prior to the injury.
