The Astros announced Friday that relief pitcher Josh Fields has been activated from the 15-day disabled list. He has appeared in just two games this season, facing one batter in each and getting both batters out, one via strikeout.

Fields was the first pick of this past offseason's Rule 5 draft after going 4-3 with a 2.01 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 78 strikeouts in 58 1/3 innings between two levels last season. He allowed two earned runs on nine hits over 10 innings during his rehab assignment, striking out eight and walking none.
