Orioles right-hander Mike Wright will make his Major League debut and start on Sunday against the Angels. Wright was called up on from Triple-A on Wednesday, but has not made an appearance for the Orioles.

He made six starts for Norfolk this season, going 3-0 with a 2.64 ERA and a 30:9 K:BB ratio in 30 2/3 innings. He will get the start on Sunday in favor of Bud Norris (illness) and Chris Tillman (back) who each scratched from their scheduled starts.

The Orioles selected Wright in the third round of the 2011 amateur draft.

"He's another one of those guys we think highly of", manager Buck Showalter said, per MASNSports.com. "He's physically ready to go and hopefully he'll be able to present himself well against a good club. That's the team with the best record in the American League last year that we're facing. They're a good club. Very fundamentally sound."
