Brewers starting pitcher Wily Peralta struggled to keep the ball in the yard Wednesday, in a rain-soaked 6-1 loss to the Cubs.
Peralta allowed a pair of home runs in the game, one in the third and one more in the fourth innings. He was charged with four runs -- three earned -- and his night came to an end after five innings, due to a 66-minute rain delay. Peralta allowed five hits and two walks, while striking out five batters in the game.
Peralta is now 7-11 after losing consecutive starts, and his ERA rose to 4.57 in the loss. Despite losing his final two starts, July was still Peralta's finest month of the season, as he finished 2-2 with a 2.13 ERA in 38 innings. He will try to keep that momentum going in August, as his next start is scheduled for Tuesday against the Giants.
