Mariners closer Tom Wilhelmsen worked around a hit to record his ninth save Wednesday against Pittsburgh.
Wilhelmsen remains sharp, as he now owns a 0.60 ERA and 0.667 WHIP on the season. The only concern could be his strikeout rate -- he has just 11 strikeouts in 15 innings (6.6 per nine innings) this year after he struck out over a batter per inning in 79 1/3 frames last year. He did not strike out a batter Wednesday.
