Yonder Alonso approaching baseball activities

Padres first baseman Yonder Alonso is about a week away from beginning baseball activities, MLB.com reports. X-rays on Alonso's broken hand showed good progress and he is slated to have a splint removed from his arm at the end of the week. He is expected to return in early to mid-July. Alonso last played May 31.
