Top Chad Dallas News

  • Blue Jays' Chad Dallas: Healthy in camp

Dallas (elbow) made his Grapefruit League debut in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Mets, striking out four batters over 1.2 perfect innings of relief.

Dallas spent the entire 2025 season on Triple-A Buffalo's 60-day injured list while recovering from Tommy John surgery, which he underwent in September 2024. The right-hander seems to have entered camp without any restrictions and came through with a dominant relief outing in his spring debut. Despite the strong showing Monday, Dallas is likely to spend most of the 2026 campaign in the Buffalo bullpen.

  • Blue Jays' Chad Dallas: Done for season

Dallas, who is on the 60-day injured list at Triple-A Buffalo with an undisclosed injury, will not pitch in 2025, Thomas Hall of The Jays Nation reports.

He logged a 6.34 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 50:24 K:BB in 61 innings at Triple-A in 2024. Dallas had consistent success in the lower levels thanks to a great slider, but his subpar fastball velocity may limit him to a low-leverage relief role in the majors.

  • Blue Jays' Chad Dallas: Stumbles in Friday's start

Dallas allowed two runs on three hits and a walk over 1.2 innings in Friday's Grapefruit League game against the Yankees. He struck out two.

The 23-year-old right-hander is getting some early starts for the Blue Jays due to Ricky Tiedemann's minor hamstring strain, and while Dallas looked solid in his first outing, he may have been overmatched Friday by a Yankees lineup that included Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, Anthony Rizzo and Giancarlo Stanton. Alek Manoah (shoulder) has yet to lock down the No. 5 starter role in the Opening Day roster, but Dallas is a long shot to win the job if it's up for grabs, having yet to pitch above Double-A. If he posts strong numbers in the high minors this season, however, he could position himself to make his big-league debut later in 2024. In 18 starts for Double-A New Hampshire last year, Dallas posted a 4.19 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 107:37 K:BB across 96.2 innings.
