Draft Scouting Report:
Rating: 70.21 (Chance to start)
Pro Comparison: Arlington Hambright
Strengths:
Developmental OT with NFL-caliber length and good size. His grip strength is solid, and he's not a waist-bender. Very under control, methodical blocker, but with him, I'd like to see more urgency and tenacity in pass pro.
Weaknesses:
Very robotic movements. Not a super-slow blocker, but more of a long-strider than an explosive type. Kick slide needs to be faster and cover more ground, and he tends to open the gate too early. Defenders soften his edge too easily, and he has little to no recovery skill because of a noticeable lack of lateral agility. Hands get outside a bit too often.
Accolades:
- Two-time honorable mention All-Big Ten
- 45 starts at LT over past four seasons
