With the 57th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams selected offensive tackle Rob Havenstein out of Wisconsin.

CBSSports.com senior writer Pete Prisco gave the Rams an A for the pick:

I love this pick. He is a mauler in the run game. He can play right tackle or move inside. Todd Gurley will come to like this pick.

Havenstein isn't an athletic guy, but he's a road-grader on the right side and can be a really good run blocker for the Rams. Jeff Fisher loves to run the ball and they showed a commitment to that in this draft with Gurley in the first round and now Havenstein in the second. The Rams needed offensive line help, and while he won't be a big help in pass blocking, he'll open up holes for the run game.

For an on-field scouting report, we have this tidbit from Rob Rang and Dane Brugler:

"Mammoth man with thickness throughout. Stout with the strength to absorb contact and hold his ground. Physical mauler with the ideal OL mentality. Great length to protect the edge. Adequate initial quickness for a man his size. Could charge cab fare to get around him due to his height and long reach (33 1/2-inch arms). Limited to right guard in the NFL with ordinary athleticism for the position and will be vulnerable against NFL speed rushers. Lacks elite lateral quickness with some hip and joint stiffness that keeps him from being a natural bender."
