San Francisco 49ers RB Brandon Jacobs caused a stir Thursday on Twitter with a series of tweets that seemed to imply he was unhappy with his situation with the team. During the course of the afternoon, Jacobs clarified what he was trying to say, but not before some people drew their own conclusions.

Jacobs signed a one-year contact with the 49ers in April, which will pay him $1.575 million, but he has not played a down yet for the team.

Sarcasm doesn’t translate on Twitter, so that can deserve as a disclaimer before the first tweet, which seemed very clear-cut.

Not surprisingly, Jacobs’ account was flooded with responses inquiring about the above tweets. He was quick to explain:

He then explained the tweets were due to his brother getting laid off from his job:

“Y'all gotta stop assuming stuff, my brothers boss make him feels like he is the best thing since slice bread, but when the budget is shot he is the first one get laid off, same the with 2 other people I know,” Jacobs tweeted.
