Rob Chudzinski believes that Browns rookie outside linebacker Barkevious Mingo is ready to assume a starting role if Jabaal Sheard (knee) can't play Sunday against Cincinnati, the Akron Beacon Journal is reporting. Sheard is sidelined from Wednesday practice.
Mingo has performed as a pass rusher as advertised in two games with two sacks. But Chudzinski claimed on Wednesday that Mingo has improved against the run as well. Mingo has registered six tackles, including four solos, in limited playing time.
