Dear Canada: So long. Love, the Bills. It was a little more eloquent than that, but the Bills did announce the termination of the Toronto series on Wednesday.

Bills CEO Russ Brandon thanked Rogers Communications and Canadian Bills fans for their help in putting on six regular season games and two preseason games.

“We greatly appreciate the support we’ve received over the past seven years from all of the tremendous people at Rogers Communications," Brandon said. We will continue to work hard to solidify our footprint in Southern Ontario. Our fan base in this region remains extremely important to our organization and their support has been well documented."

The Bills began the Toronto series in 2008 but looked like it might be heading towards a conclusion once Terry Pegula purchased the team following Ralph Wilson's death.

Pegula noted he'd like to see all Bills home games played in Buffalo and in March 2014, the team announced plans to postpone the series.

At that point, even with the five-year extension signed in 2012, the Toronto series looked like it was on life support.

Now the plug's been pulled for good.
