Giants LT Will Beatty injures pectoral while lifting weights

The Giants offensive line suffered a big blow when left tackle Will Beatty apparently injured his pectoral muscle while lifting weights, per Fox Sports' Mike Garafolo.

According to the report, Beatty was being evaluated Wednesday, and per ESPN sources, Beatty's pec was torn, which would require a surgery that will keep him out of action for 5-to-6 months. 

In Beatty's absence from the lineup, the Giants have a couple of candidates in Justin Pugh and first-round draft pick <span data-shortcode= " data-canon="New York Giants" data-type="SPORTS_OBJECT_TEAM" id="shortcode0"> to fill the void.
