Ted Ginn has finally earned some Fantasy consideration
It has taken Ted Ginn seven years to find himself as an NFL receiver. But the burner has finally emerged as a threat and a viable Fantasy option in 2013 with the wideout-needy Panthers.
Ginn serves as their third receiver behind Steve Smith and Brandon LaFell, but has been as productive as any of them with a team-best 17.5 yards per catch, which ranks fourth in the NFL among wideouts with 20 or more receptions. He has also scored two touchdowns.
Week 10 opponent San Francisco has slipped a bit in recent weeks against top wide receivers, but still ranks eighth in th league in passing yards yielded with 1,764 and ninth in passing touchdowns allowed with 10. The Niners also don't allow many long gains, which is Ginn's specialty. They are giving up an average of just 5.7 yards per passing attempt, which places them seventh in the NFL.
Ginn has creeped into only Nathan Zegura's list of top 48 wide receiver plays this week among the three CBSSports.com senior Fantasy writers. But he could be a good hunch pick for those without clearly better options because of his penchant for catching long passes from a hot quarterback in Cam Newton.
