Lamarr Houston: Retires with Raiders
Houston signed a one-day contract Wednesday to retire as a member of the Raiders.
Houston hasn't seen game action since 2017 but made his retirement official this week. The eight-year veteran spent time with the Raiders, Bears and Texans, and he totaled 302 tackles, 30 tackles, five forced fumbles and one interception in 100 career games.

Bears' Lamarr Houston: Notches five sacks in nine games
Houston recorded 17 tackles and five sacks in nine games played with both the Texans and the Bears.
Houston only collected one sack in four games with the Texans, but after the Bears claimed him off waivers, he ended the season with four sacks in five games. He's now an unrestricted free agent who'll likely find work as a situational pass rusher who's demonstrated the ability to create sacks, although his landing spot will ultimately determine his fantasy value.

Bears' Lamarr Houston: Two sacks in Saturday's loss
Houston collected a pair of sacks along with three tackles in Saturday's defeat to the Lions.
Houston took advantage of a decimated Detroit offensive line, leading to a huge two-sack performance. He's now posted at least one sack in each of his three games since rejoining the Bears, and he's been an outstanding IDP option after doing very little in his time with the Texans earlier this season.

Bears' Lamarr Houston: Notches another sack
Houston collected a sack and one tackle in Sunday's 33-7 victory over the Bengals.
Since being acquired on November 29, Houston got into the sack column for the second game in a row. He's taken advantage of a rash of defensive injuries that's allowed him to become a regular part of Chicago's defensive rotation. Since he rarely piles up tackles, he's a sack-dependent IDP.

Bears' Lamarr Houston: Returns to Windy City
The Bears claimed Houston off waivers Wednesday, Adam Hoge of WGN Radio 720 AM Chicago reports.
Houston returns to Chicago for his second stint with the team, as he played the past three seasons in Chicago before he was waived with an injury designation days before the 2017 opener. Since then, the 30-year-old appeared in four games for the Texans, posting seven tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and one touchdown. He'll likely rotate in on defense and help provide some pass rush from outside linebacker following Leonard Floyd (knee) recent move to injured reserve.

Lamarr Houston: Waived by Houston
Houston was waived by the Texans on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
With Monday's loss to the Ravens, the Texans playoff hopes dwindled, and the team now appears to be shifting focus toward giving their young talent more experience. Houston joined the Texans in early October, playing in five games for the Texans, recording seven tackles (six solo) and one sack in the process. He now may look for a team hoping to bolster their linebacking corps for a playoff push, as the 30-year-old brings plenty of veteran experience to the table.

Texans' Lamarr Houston: Scores in Week 9 loss
Houston recovered a fumble and scored the Texans' first touchdown in Sunday's 20-14 loss to Indianapolis.
Houston, who was signed to the Texans roster after J.J. Watt (leg) and Whitney Mercilus (pectoral) were lost for the season, played 47 snaps Sunday, his most since joining the Texans. He should continue to get opportunities with Mercilus and Brian Cushing (suspension) both unavailable. Since joining his new team, the eight-year veteran has recorded four tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and Sunday's fumble-recovery TD.

Texans' Lamarr Houston: Signing with Texans
Houston is expected to sign with the Texans, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Houston was released by the Bears just before the beginning of the regular season after suffering a knee injury during the preseason. His signing indicates the veteran linebacker is now back to full strength. Houston could become a key cog in the Texans defense, especially considering Whitney Mercilus (pectoral) will likely be ruled out for the season.

Houston's underwhelming tenure in Chicago officially came to a close Wednesday. The 2010 second-rounder ultimately finished his three seasons in the Windy City with 57 total tackles and nine sacks. He's immediately eligible to sign with another team after agreeing to an injury settlement.

Bears' Lamarr Houston: Expected to play Saturday
Houston (knee) is expected to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Cardinals.
Houston missed out on last week's exhibition as he was still working his way back to full speed following surgery to repair a torn ACL. He seems to have fallen behind Leonard Floyd and Willie Young on the depth chart and will face added competition for snaps when Pernell McPhee (knee) eventually returns. However, Houston should remain a key member of the rotation at outside linebacker and could push for a double-digit sack total should he remain healthy for the duration of the campaign. In his last full season with the Bears in 2015, the Texas product notched 42 tackles, eight sacks and a fumble recovery.

Bears' Lamarr Houston: Recovery going as planned
Houston (knee - ACL) is on schedule in his recovery, Patrick Finley of The Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Houston only lasted until Week 2 last season before tearing his ACL for the second time in three years -- but this time it was in his left knee and not his right. Despite participating in the Bears' OTAs this spring, the 2010 second-rounder hesitated to say whether he's returned to full strength. Thus, it seems like he's not quite there yet, but it doesn't seem like it will take much longer either.
