Deon King: Promoted to active roster
The Jaguars promoted King to their active roster Saturday, Mike Kaye of FirstCoastNews.com reports.
King was on the Browns' active roster from Week 5 through Week 15 this season. He subsequently joined the Jaguars' practice squad after getting waived. His promotion Saturday indicates Blair Brown (ankle) may not be ready to go for Sunday's tilt against the Steelers, which would mean King could get some reps providing depth at weakside linebacker.

King re-joined the Browns in mid-November after being waived a week earlier by the team. The 24-year-old has played in nine games for Cleveland this season, seeing most of his action on special teams. He could end up with the Browns' practice squad if he clears waivers.

Browns' Deon King: Promoted to active roster
King was signed to the Browns' active roster from their practice squad Tuesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Browns' Deon King: Signs with Browns
King signed a contract Monday with the Browns, Dan Labbe of Cleveland.com reports.
King, a second-year player out of Norfolk State, won the Buck Buchanan Award as the nation's top FCS defensive player in 2015. During his rookie campaign, he bounced around between the Cowboys, Chargers and Colts, with the latter club releasing him in May following the NFL draft. He joins a rather thin linebacking corps in Cleveland and could have an outside chance of making the team if he can carve out a niche on special teams.

Deon King: Let go by Indianapolis
King was released by the Colts on Monday.
King was hoping to compete for a roster spot with the Colts during training camp, but he won't be given that opportunity after the club cut him loose to create more roster room for the several undrafted free agents that were signed over the weekend. The 23-year-old linebacker split time with the Colts and Chargers in 2016, amassing two tackles over six games as a rookie.
