Browns' Pierre Strong: Makes cameo on offense
Strong had one carry for one yard and caught his lone target for four yards in Sunday's 13-10 win over the Steelers.
Three weeks ago, it looked like there could be a role for Strong in Cleveland's offense, but he's been limited to eight snaps over the last three games, including his three against Pittsburgh. He maintains a spot as a kick returner, but all three kickoffs from the Steelers were touchbacks. If Jerome Ford and Kareem Hunt stay healthy, there's little room for Strong in the backfield.

Browns' Pierre Strong: Special teams only in Week 10
Strong did not play on offense during Sunday's 33-31 win over Baltimore.
Strong was questionable all week with a hamstring injury, which may be the reason he was limited to special teams duty, although he did return one kickoff for 33 yards. He entered Sunday with 23 touches over the prior three games, but with Jerome Ford and Kareem Hunt healthy, Strong's role figures to be limited. He played just five offensive snaps in Week 9's win over Arizona.

Browns' Pierre Strong: Suits up Sunday
Strong (hamstring) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Ravens.
Strong is in uniform after heading into the weekend listed as questionable following back-to-back limited practices Thursday and Friday. While the 2022 fourth-rounder will be available Sunday, he figures to work in a complementary role versus Baltimore, with both Jerome Ford and Kareem Hunt also on hand to log touches in the Browns' Week 10 backfield.

Browns' Pierre Strong: Questionable for Sunday's contest
Strong (hamstring) will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Ravens, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Strong returned to a limited practice Thursday after missing Wednesday's session and thus has a chance to suit up this weekend. That said, with both Jerome Ford and Kareem Hunt also in the team's RB mix, Strong figures to be limited to complementary work if he's available versus Baltimore.

Browns' Pierre Strong: Gets in limited practice
Strong (hamstring) returned to practice Thursday, getting in a limited session, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Strong missed practice Wednesday, but his Thursday return puts him on track for Sunday against the Ravens. With Jerome Ford back healthy alongside Kareem Hunt, Strong played just five offensive snaps last week against the Cardinals, rushing three times for nine yards and catching one pass for minus-seven yards.

Browns' Pierre Strong: Dealing with hamstring issue
Strong won't practice Wednesday due to a hamstring injury, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
In the Browns' 27-0 win over the Cardinals this past Sunday, Strong recorded just five snaps on offense, carrying three times for nine yards and catching his only target for minus-7 yards. Strong wasn't reported to have sustained an injury during the contest, but the hamstring issue suddenly puts his availability for this Sunday's game against Baltimore in question. Even if he's able to overcome the issue by the weekend, Strong will be working behind both Jerome Ford and Kareem Hunt. The Browns could elevate either Kenyan Drake or John Kelly from the practice squad if Strong isn't able to play Sunday and the team wants another depth option out of the backfield.

Browns' Pierre Strong: Marginalized in win
Strong had three carries for nine yards and caught his lone target for minus-7 yards in Sunday's 27-0 win over the Cardinals.
A week after Strong logged a season-high 24 snaps, he had just five plays on offense. Backfield injuries created a path to a greater role for the former Patriot, but Jerome Ford was able to quickly overcome an ankle injury, which relegated Strong to a minor role Sunday. Ford and Kareem Hunt remain the primary fill-ins for the injured Nick Chubb (knee). In his brief window of opportunity, however, Strong showed quickness and potential as a third-down back.

Browns' Pierre Strong: Productive in loss
Strong gained 41 yards on 10 carries and caught his lone target for 41 yards in Sunday's 24-20 loss to the Seahawks. He also returned one kickoff for 15 yards.
Strong, who played a season-high 24 snaps, led the Browns backfield in combined yards, as Kareem Hunt supplied 67 on 15 touches and Jerome Ford managed only 39 yards on 10 touches. Ford dealt with an ankle injury in practice during the week, which helps explain the near-equal three-way split. For a second straight game, Strong showed off his speed, and his 41-yard catch and run late in the first quarter set up the Browns' first touchdown. He also played in the fourth quarter of a close game for a second straight week and lined up at wideout a few times, and the coaching staff clearly trusts him. Ford (26 snaps) looked healthy in a managed role, and the Browns will monitor his ankle heading into a Week 9 tilt against Arizona. Strong's workload will depend to some extent on Ford's availability, but the former seems to have carved out a consistent role.

Browns' Pierre Strong: Moves up depth chart
Strong is expected to serve as the top backup to Kareem Hunt while Jerome Ford (ankle) is unavailable, Zac Jackson and Nando Di Fino of The Athletic report.
Strong had season highs in snaps (23) and carries (eight) in the wild 39-38 win over the Colts in Week 7. He saw a lot of field time in the fourth quarter after Ford sustained his injury. While Hunt might be considered the starter, it's best to look at this as a 1A/1B situation. The 28-year-old Hunt may no longer be a full-time runner and catcher. He's been a regular on injury reports since signing with Cleveland during Week 3 and hasn't played more than 28 snaps in a game. Strong out-snapped him, 23-19, Sunday. The Browns could explore the running back market ahead of next week's trade deadline, but as of now, Strong is in line to see his most activity of the season.

Browns' Pierre Strong: Season-high eight carries
Strong rushed eight times for 25 yards and returned two kickoffs for 46 yards in Sunday's 39-38 win over the Colts in Week 7.
Strong recorded a season high in carries, with five of his runs coming after Jerome Ford left the game early in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury. Ford's situation bears monitoring during preparations for Week 8's road game in Seattle. If Ford is limited or unavailable, Kareem Hunt figures to fill in as the primary back while Strong would be in position for greater-than-normal usage.

Browns' Pierre Strong: Unlikely rushing leader
Strong carried five times for 49 yards in Sunday's 28-3 loss to the Ravens.
Strong was the Browns' unlikely rushing leader, fueled by a 40-yard scamper late in the fourth quarter. All of his touches came late in the game with Cleveland trailing by 25 points, after Jerome Ford and Kareem Hunt came out of the blowout loss. The rushing attack clearly misses Nick Chubb (knee), but Strong isn't a solution. The Browns are off in Week 5.

Browns' Pierre Strong: No. 3 back in win
Strong carried six times for 27 yards and returned one kickoff for 26 yards in Sunday's 27-3 win over Tennessee.
In Cleveland's first game without Nick Chubb (knee), Strong (eight snaps) operated as the No. 3 back behind Jerome Ford (40) and the newly re-signed Kareem Hunt (14). Strong had one carry on the first series, then five more on the Browns' final drive of the game. The kickoff return was his first of the season, and it appears he will take those duties from Ford, who is now atop the running back depth chart. Head coach Kevin Stefanski does not want to risk injury to another lead RB by having them returning kickoffs.

Browns' Pierre Strong: Backfield depth added
Strong faces added competition for work in the Cleveland backfield following the team's addition of Kareem Hunt on Wednesday, Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports.
In the wake of Nick Chubb's season-ending knee injury, Strong's profile in the Browns offense initially looked as though it could increase. While that's still possible to some degree, Strong's change-of-pace touches now are less clear following the signing of Hunt, who played for Cleveland from 2019 through 2022. For now, Jerome Ford is slated to work as the team's lead back, beginning with Sunday's game against the Titans. Assuming Hunt is active Week 3, he could end up serving as the top backup rather than Strong, who has been with the Browns for less than a month and didn't play his first snaps on offense until after Chubb exited Monday's loss to the Steelers.

Browns' Pierre Strong: Role likely to grow
Strong had two carries for one yard and a touchdown and failed to catch his only target in Monday's 26-22 loss to the Steelers.
Strong, who played only 13 special-teams snaps in Week 1, saw his first action of the season on offense after the Browns lost Nick Chubb to a potentially season-ending knee injury. Jerome Ford will move to the No. 1 spot on the depth chart while Strong becomes the primary backup. The 24-year-old was selected by the Patriots in the fourth round of the 2022 draft and was mainly a special-teams contributor during his rookie season, producing 100 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries over 49 offensive snaps, but he got traded to Cleveland in late August after New England signed Ezekiel Elliott. Ford and Strong could be joined by Hassan Hall, who is currently on the Browns' practice squad.

Browns' Pierre Strong: Special teams only in opener
Strong did not play an offensive snap in Sunday's 24-3 win over the Bengals in Week 1.
Strong operated as the No. 3 back but did not see the field while the Browns were on offense. The former Patriot instead played 13 snaps on special teams while Nick Chubb and Jerome Ford handled all the backfield duties. Strong, who was traded to Cleveland in late August, could see a bigger role in the backfield once he's more familiar with the playbook.

Browns' Pierre Strong: Could have role early on?
Strong may have a role in the Browns offense to start the season, Irie Harris of cleveland.com reports.
Strong is one of three RBs on the initial 53-man roster, along with Nick Chubb and Jerome Ford, after the Browns traded OT Tyrone Wheatley to New England for the running back this past Sunday. While Ford's recent return to practice after battling a hamstring injury suggests Strong may not really be needed Week 1, a small role on offense isn't out of the question, nor is playing time on special teams.

Browns' Pierre Strong: Traded to Cleveland
The Patriots traded Strong to the Browns in exchange for Tyrone Wheatley on Sunday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
With the addition of Ezekiel Elliott, Strong found himself buried on New England's running back depth chart, which is led by Rhamondre Stevenson, and was losing ground to fellow 2022 draft pick Kevin Harris. In Cleveland, there's less of a logjam behind Nick Chubb, so Strong will be competing with Jerome Ford, Demetric Felton and others for backup opportunities.
