Giants' Odell Beckham: Happy with recovery from broken ankle
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Beckham is happy with where he stands in his recovery from a fractured left ankle, Michael Eisen of the Giants' official site reports. "I don't know a percentage, but I'm actually doing really good," Beckham said Saturday at the NFL Honors awards show. "They tell me to slow down because I've been out for so long, and I'm ready to go, I'm ready to go. Now I can see where the mental part comes in as far as being patient, and knowing you can't push too much right now, or you need to push more. It's finding that balance."

In a preseason game Aug. 21, Beckham injured his left ankle, which was termed a sprain from the get go. After sitting out the regular-season opener, he returned Week 2, and unsurprisingly, he was heavily involved in the passing attack. However, playing through the pain ultimately was his downfall. Finally, in Week 5 against the Chargers, Beckham required a cart to leave the field and was diagnosed with a broken left ankle, forcing an abbreviated end to his fourth campaign. As of Dec. 6, he wasn't wearing a walking boot, and Saturday's comments seem to indicate he'll be ready for the offseason program in early April. However, Beckham is focused on the long term. "To be ready for the first game [of the 2018 season] is all I'm worried about, so I can be a hundred percent," he stated. No matter when his health is secure, the touchdown machine (38 in 47 career contests) will be looking to bounce back from a career-low 7.4 yards per target.

Giants' Odell Beckham: Hits IR, undergoes surgery
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Beckham (ankle), who was placed on injured reserve Monday, underwent season-ending surgery, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

In addition to Beckham, the Giants moved fellow receiver Dwayne Harris (foot), who is scheduled to undergo season-ending surgery Tuesday, to IR, opening up roster spots for Tavarres King and Travis Rudolph. It's expected that Brandon Marshall (ankle) will soon join Beckham and Harris on IR after undergoing his own season-ending surgery Tuesday, leaving Sterling Shepard (ankle) as the Giants' new unquestioned top receiver. Those absences are also likely to open up starting roles for holdover Roger Lewis and King, who were both listed as members of the first team along with Shepard on the Giants' unofficial depth chart heading into Sunday's game against the Broncos, according to Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record. Tight end Evan Engram, who boasts enough speed to line up out wide, could also benefit from increased targets with the losses of Beckham, Marshall and Harris creating a major void in the Giants' passing attack.

Giants' Odell Beckham: Injury confirmed as season-ender
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Giants head coach Ben McAdoo confirmed Monday that Beckham, who is scheduled to undergo surgery later this week to repair a fractured left ankle, won't play again this season.

The grim news was fully expected after Beckham was in visible agony after being carted off the field when he injured the left ankle -- which he had previously sprained during the preseason -- in Sunday's 27-22 loss to the Chargers. The All-Pro wideout's absence just about ends any hope the 0-5 Giants have of climbing out of the NFC East cellar and leaves a huge offensive void in a battered receiving corps. So long as their own injuries don't prove to be multi-week concerns, Sterling Shepard (ankle) and Brandon Marshall (ankle) will likely see their target volumes pick up the most among the Giants' receivers, and rookie tight end Evan Engram can also be expected to carve out a larger role within the team's passing attack.

Giants' Odell Beckham: Will need ankle surgery
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Beckham will undergo surgery this week to address a fractured left ankle, but the Giants have yet to formally schedule an appointment.

Beckham's departure from Sunday's loss to the Chargers was the biggest blow of an injury-filled day for the Giants' wideout corps, which saw three other members exit early. The Giants aren't expected to issue a timetable for Beckham's recovery until after the procedure is completed, but it likely spells an end to the three-time Pro Bowler's season. Beckham, who had previously sprained the same ankle in the preseason and missed Week 1 while recovering from that injury, compiled 25 catches for 302 yards and three touchdowns in the four games he played. The team will likely turn to Sterling Shepard, who is day-to-day with an ankle sprain, and Brandon Marshall, who is undergoing further testing on the ankle injury he sustained Sunday, to absorb most of the targets that had previously gone to Beckham, provided neither Shepard nor Marshall is forced to miss extensive time.
