Giants' Odell Beckham: Will attend voluntary OTAs
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Beckham (ankle) will attend voluntary OTAs next week, Josina Anderson of ESPN reports.

Beckham was also present for a minicamp session at the end of April, further distancing himself from the idea of a holdout as he enters the final season of his rookie contract. The 25-year-old is establishing a good rapport with the Giants' new coaching staff, consistently staying in contact with Pat Shurmur throughout the offseason, per Jordan Raanan of Beckham seems to be on track or even ahead of schedule in his recovery from October ankle surgery, but the Giant likely will remain cautious and continue to limit him to individual drills until training camp.

Giants' Odell Beckham: On field for minicamp session
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Beckham (ankle) was spotted on the field catching passes and taking part in non-contact individual drills during the Giants' minicamp practice Thursday, Jordan Raanan of reports.

Beckham's presence on the field this week along with new head coach Pat Shurmur's declaration Wednesday that the wideout won't be traded prior to the season suggests that any discord between the 25-year-old and the organization has been put aside, at least for the time being. While Beckham surely still prefers to receive a long-term contract extension prior to the season rather than playing under the final year of his rookie deal in 2018, it doesn't look like he has any plans to entertain a holdout. Instead, Beckham's main focus will be proving to the new coaching staff and front office that he's approaching full health after a broken left ankle ended his season last October. Beckham may not absorb full contact at any point during the Giants' offseason program, but it's not expected that he'll face many limitations, if any, by the time training camp arrives.

Giants' Odell Beckham: In team's plans
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Coach Pat Shurmur relayed Tuesday that he "absolutely" expects Beckham (ankle) to remain with the Giants, the New York Daily News reports.

Though Beckham hasn't been completely medically cleared in the wake of the left ankle surgery he underwent last October, he was present Tuesday for the start of the Giants' voluntary three-day minicamp. With trade chatter regarding the wideout now seemingly fizzling out, Beckham's health and supporting cast become more relevant topics. Barring any setbacks, however, he's expected to be back to 100 percent in advance of the coming season. Meanwhile, with Brandon Marshall (ankle) having been released, it's not hard to imagine the Giants adding more depth behind Beckham and Sterling Shepard. Free agent Dez Bryant is a name that comes to mind, but it's unclear if New York's brass sees a fit on that front.

Giants' Odell Beckham: Present for minicamp

Beckham (ankle) will participate in a walk-through at voluntary minicamp Tuesday, but he won't be available to practice, Dianna Russini of ESPN reports.

Despite rumors of a potential holdout, Beckham has been participating in the voluntary offseason workout program and is now taking part in the Giants' first minicamp of the year. His availability is still limited as he rehabs from October ankle surgery, but it at least seems he's on good terms with the team's new coaching staff. Scheduled to make $8.46 million in 2018 under the fifth-year option on his rookie deal, Beckham is angling for a long-term extension that likely would set a new precedent for wide receiver contracts.

Giants' Odell Beckham: Stays in New York another day
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Beckham (ankle) was present at the Giants facility as of Tuesday, Albert Breer of reports.

Beckham's attendance at the first voluntary workout of the offseason program Monday was painted as a brief visit to "check in, work out in the gym and meet with some people," according to Josina Anderson of ESPN. Thereafter, Beckham was expected to return to California while his representation and the Giants discuss a desired lofty contract extension. Perhaps the meeting with Pat Shurmur and the new coaching staff exceeded expectations, or Beckham himself had a change of heart. Speculation aside, Beckham likely will resume his typical offseason regimen in Los Angeles in the near future as he continues rehabbing the broken left ankle that contained the wideout to four appearances in 2017.
