Wild's Calen Addison: Part of big trade Monday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Addison was traded along with Alex Galchenyuk and a 2020 first-round pick to Minnesota from the Penguins on Monday in exchange for Jason Zucker, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.

The 19-year-old will be a key piece in the future for the Wild, as he's enjoyed an illustrious career in the WHL. With Lethbridge, Addison has racked up 206 career points across 241 games in his three-year career in the league. The No. 53 overall pick in the 2018 draft could ascend to AHL Iowa following his junior season this spring.

Penguins' Calen Addison: Big night in WHL action
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Addison picked up a goal and an assist in WHL Lethbridge's 4-3 overtime loss to Winnipeg on Wednesday.

The defenseman finished with a game-high seven shots on goal. Addison is a talented offensive rearguard, but his overall play remains a work in progress. He's neither a big player (5-foot-10) nor a great skater, so the former No. 53 overall selection (2018) is going to have to generate offense in order to have a successful pro career. Addison signed his entry-level contract with Pittsburgh this past April. For the season, Addison has four goals and 11 points in 15 games for Lethbridge.

Penguins' Calen Addison: Inks entry-level deal
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Addison signed an entry-level contract with the Penguins on Saturday.

Addison played this season with the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL, where he has 65 points in 67 regular-season games along with nine points in seven playoff contests. The 18-year-old was the Penguins' second-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, and he's currently on an amateur contract with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for the remainder of the season. The skilled blueliner will try to make the team in 2019-20, otherwise he'll be sent back to juniors.

Penguins' Calen Addison: Released from Team Canada
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Addison was cut by Team Canada ahead of the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championships, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.

Addison -- who is eligible to play in the 2020 tournament -- was selected by the Penguins in the second round of the 2018 NHL Draft. The strong-skating defensive prospect has racked up 31 points in 30 games with WHL Lethbridge this season, which could earn him an entry-level deal from Pittsburgh before the end of the 2018-19 campaign. Even if he does sign an ELC, the 18-year-old figures to spend at least one more year in the minors before he would get a shot at playing in the NHL or AHL.
