Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Goes two innings in debut

Hendricks pitched two innings in his Cactus League debut Thursday. He allowed one run on three hits while striking out two.

As expected, Hendricks didn't go very deep into the first game of the spring. The veteran is focused on getting ready for the regular season and turning the page after a tough 2021 campaign. His 4.77 ERA was a career worst, as was his 1.35 WHIP. Hendricks posted a 2.88 ERA and 1.00 WHIP during the condensed 2020 season, and if his 2022 numbers are closer to that range, he'll once again be a top fantasy option, though he's still unlikely to provide much of a boost in the strikeout department.
