Marlins' Erik Gonzalez: Signs with Miami

Gonzalez signed a minor-league contract with the Marlins in November, per the MLB transactions log.

Gonzalez spent the last three seasons with Pittsburgh, though he was outrighted to Triple-A Indianapolis in August. He elected free agency this offseason and will now look to earn a roster spot in Miami with a strong performance in spring training. Prior to being cast off the 40-man roster in Pittsburgh, Gonzalez posted a .232/.258/.300 line across 229 plate appearances in 2021.
