The Mets were optimistic that Scherzer would be able to return to major-league game action this weekend, but he'll ultimately require at least one more appearance in the minors prior to being activated. The right-hander isn't yet sure which minor-league affiliate he'll join next week, but it's certainly possible that he'll be cleared to return from the injured list next weekend.
