Hess was recalled by the Orioles on Thursday.
Hess has been working at the Orioles' alternate training site since early September, but he'll return to the active roster to provide bullpen depth over the final four games of the regular season. The right-hander has made three appearances this season, allowing five runs on 10 hits and two walks while striking out one over seven innings. Right-hander Dean Kremer was sent down in a corresponding move.
