Orioles' Ryan Flaherty: Gets nod to start throwing

Flaherty (shoulder) was cleared to begin throwing Friday, Rick Dubroff of PressBoxonline.com reports.

This is a big step in Flaherty's recovery process, as the 30-year-old finally appears to be turning a corner after experiencing nothing but complications since first landing on the disabled list May 21. A clearer timetable for his return should be available as he continues to ramp up his throwing, but it seems he's slowly inching closer.
