Phillies' Buddy Kennedy: Contract selected

The Phillies selected Kennedy's contract from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Thursday.

Kennedy earned a promotion after slashing.283/.388/.447 with eight home runs and a 41:31 K:BB over 61 games with Lehigh Valley, although he has cooled off in June with a .185/.323/.259 batting line. The 26-year-old will serve as a reserve infielder.
