Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Kicks off rehab assignment

Suwinski (groin) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run Thursday in a rehab appearance with Triple-A Indianapolis.

Suwinski has been sidelined since Aug. 29 with the injury but made his first rehab appearance Thursday. He took Michael Soroka (shoulder) deep in the sixth inning and could be back with the Pirates within the next week.
