The Mets recalled Weisenburger from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.

He'll give the Mets a fresh bullpen arm for this weekend's Subway Series against the Yankees. Weisenburger has made three appearance for the Mets this season, allowing one run with a 4:2 K:BB over 4.1 frames. The 28-year-old has mainly been used as a starting pitcher in the minors this season, so he's capable of providing length.

  • Chris Devenski RP | NYM

Mets' Chris Devenski: DFA'd by Mets

The Mets designated Devenski for assignment Friday.

Devenski was knocked around for five runs while recording only one out in his last appearance Wednesday against the Marlins, and he's authored an 11.74 ERA in nine outings this season between the Pirates and Mets. Jack Weisenburger will grab Devenski's spot on the roster and in the bullpen.

  • Bradley Hanner RP | NYY

Yankees' Bradley Hanner: Rejoins big-league bullpen

The Yankees recalled Hanner from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday.

Hanner permitted three runs with a 6:0 K:BB over four innings during an earlier stint with the big club. He will provide manager Aaron Boone with a fresh bullpen arm.

  • Wilber Dotel RP | PIT

Pirates' Wilber Dotel: Picking up first MLB start

Dotel is slated to start Friday's game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field, Dominic Campbell of SI.com reports.

Stepping into the rotation spot vacated by the injured Braxton Ashcraft (arm), Dotel will be taking the hill on two days' rest and hasn't covered more three innings in any appearance in the majors or minors since the All-Star break. Khristian Curtis and Antwone Kelly are both well-rested arms capable of covering multiple frames out of the bullpen once Dotel's day is done.

  • Erick Fedde RP | CHW

White Sox's Erick Fedde: Takes loss in bulk relief

Fedde (8-9) was tagged with the loss versus Pittsburgh on Thursday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out one batter over 5.1 relief innings.

Rookie Hagen Smith drew the start for Chicago, but he ended up working just two innings as the opener. Fedde took over in the third and logged a starter's workload with 81 pitches across 5.1 frames. The veteran right-hander did fine in keeping the White Sox in the game, but he was stuck with the loss since the Chicago offense wasn unable to score. It remains to be seen if Fedde will again work behind an opener or go back to a traditional starting role moving forward, but either way he's projected to next take the mound in Cleveland early next week.

  • Hagen Smith RP | CHW

White Sox's Hagen Smith: Works as opener Thursday

Smith tossed two scoreless innings in a no-decision against Pittsburgh on Thursday, allowing two hits and striking out three batters.

Smith made his first big-league start, but he ended up working a short stint as the opener for Erick Fedde, who followed with 5.1 frames of bulk relief. Smith looked great during his brief time in the game, notching five whiffs on his 33 pitches and keeping Pittsburgh out of the scoring column. The rookie left-hander has thrived as a big leaguer so far, yielding just one earned run through 18 innings spanning 11 appearances while posting a 26:10 K:BB. He worked mostly as a starter in the minors, but Chicago may hold him to shorter outings given his success in that role so far.

  • Pirates' Mason Montgomery: Locks down another save

Montgomery earned a save against the White Sox on Thursday, allowing one hit with one strikeout and no walks over one scoreless inning.

Montgomery was summoned in the ninth inning with Pittsburgh up 2-0. He gave up a leadoff single to allow the tying run to come to the plate but retired each of the next three batters, getting the final out on a strikeout. Montgomery has notched a save each of the past two days and already has five saves through the first 10 days of September. He's been a revelation as the Pirates' closer and has now gone 20 straight contests without giving up an earned run. Over that stretch, Montgomery has earned three wins, gone 10-for-10 in save chances and posted a 30:4 K:BB over 19.1 innings.

  • Andres Munoz RP | SEA

Mariners' Andres Munoz: Logs save for second straight day

Munoz recorded a save against the Rangers on Thursday, walking two batters in a hitless and scoreless inning. He did not record a strikeout.

Seattle stormed back from a three-run deficit by scoring four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, and Munoz entered for the top of the ninth tasked with holding a one-run lead. He threw only 11 of 25 pitches for strikes and issued consecutive two-out walks to put the tying and go-ahead runs on base, but the veteran closer recovered by getting Jake Burger to hit into a game-ending fielder's choice. Munoz notched a save for the second consecutive day and for the third time over the past five days. He's working on a five-game scoreless stretch, though Thursday's outing snapped a streak of 22 straight relief appearances in which he notched at least one punchout.

  • Brewers' Garrett Stallings: Back in majors

The Brewers recalled Stallings from Triple-A Nashville on Thursday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Stallings will return to Milwaukee's bullpen to fill the void left by Brandon Sproat, who was sent down to Nashville in a corresponding move. Stallings has pitched eight shutout innings across four appearances with the Brewers this season but owns a 4.11 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 15.1 frames at Nashville since being sent down to Triple-A on Aug. 4.

  • Antwone Kelly RP | PIT

Pirates' Antwone Kelly: Recalled from Indianapolis

The Pirates recalled Kelly from Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday.

The 23-year-old righty will rejoin the big club to give the Pirates extra bullpen help following Braxton Ashcraft's (arm) move to the injured list. Kelly has coughed up five earned runs in 8.1 big-league innings this season and will likely work in a multi-inning relief role as long as he's up with Pittsburgh.
