Quickley (COVID-19 health and safety protocols) logged six points (2-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt), four assists and one steal in 15 minutes off the bench Tuesday in the Knicks' 96-88 win over the Timberwolves.
One of multiple Knicks players that cleared the protocols in advance of Tuesday's contest, Quickley handled a minor role in his first game since Dec. 16. While Quickley was out, Derrick Rose (ankle) suffered a long-term injury, but the second-year point guard won't necessarily be in store for a big role increase after head coach Tom Thibodeau elected to reinstall Kemba Walker in the lineup following a string of games in which he was left out of the rotation. With Walker and Evan Fournier locked in as New York's starters out of the backcourt, Quickley, Alec Burks and Quentin Grimes will fill minutes on the second unit.
