Timberwolves' Malik Beasley: Released from jail
Beasley announced Tuesday via his personal Instagram account that he was released from Wright County (Minn.) Jail after completing his prison sentence stemming from his September 2020 arrest on one felony count of threats of violence.
Beasley was expected to begin a 120-day jail sentence June 1, but he was released after just 78 days due to good behavior. The 24-year-old shooting guard is coming off a 2020-21 campaign in which he averaged a career-high 19.6 points per game before he missed the Timberwolves' final 23 contests due to a strained hamstring. He's believed to be fully healthy now, and after having already served a 12-game suspension last season following his arrest, Beasley should be in good standing with the NBA heading into 2021-22. Beasley is entering the second season of the four-year, $60 million deal he signed with Minnesota last summer.
