Corn Elder: Sent packing

Elder was released by the Lions on Tuesday, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.

Elder was a favorite to secure the starting job at nickel back upon signing with Detroit last spring, but he missed time in training camp with a hamstring injury before losing out to undrafted rookie AJ Parker.
