Byram (head) won't play Wednesday versus the Canucks, but he continues to make progress. The defenseman is expected to give head coach Jared Bednar the all-clear when he's ready to play, Adrian Dater of ColoradoHockeyNow.com reports.

Byram may be sent to AHL Colorado to get into some games before returning to the Avalanche, but it's unclear if or when that might happen. The 20-year-old has only played in five games since the start of 2022 after suffering post-concussion symptoms. Byram figures to rejoin the Avalanche's lineup some time before the end of the regular season if he can avoid any further setbacks.
