Devils' Tyce Thompson: Having surgery, will miss months

Thompson (upper body) will likely undergo shoulder surgery and miss several months, Corey Masisak of The Athletic reports.

Thompson suffered the injury Nov. 11 against the Islanders and hasn't played since. The forward averaged 14:25 in his two games and was trying to establish a consistent role with the Devils. A more specific return timeframe should become clear in the weeks following Thompson's surgery.
