Thompson was waived by the Islanders on Saturday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Thompson had three goals, 14 points and 54 PIM in 51 contests with AHL Bridgeport in 2023-24. The 25-year-old isn't likely to spend much time, if any, at the NHL level this season.
